Inspired by Nature by Paul Tupman
Spiral staircase in the Vatican Museum. / I love spiral staircases and this is an amazing example. Definately inspired by nature, when you looked at it you coudn’t help but see the shell like forms appearing. I would love to photograph this with nobody else around, but I actually feel the people add some scale to this piece and I dont mind them being there at all. If I didnt have the Vatican Guards looking over my shoulder I would have been there all day!

Aya Sofya #1 by louise
A masterpiece of Byzantine Architecture, this magnificent structure in Istanbul, was built under the Emperor Justinian 1st….over 500 years ago. It is now a museum, but is considered one of the great buildings of the world. During its long history, it has functioned as a Byzantine Church, and an Ottoman Mosque. A most amazing place to explore… see Turkey images HERE

Arizona Pueblo by amarica
This is what our weather is like out here in Arizona this time of the year, August 2008. We get lots of sun up to 125 degrees. We also get sudden rain clouds and flash monsoon storms. The storms are heavy and torential and usually usually last from a few hours to a day or so. Then we have more sunshine. This is a pueblo dwelling just above Oatman, Arizona. It is about 15 miles from where we live. I don’t think there are any people living there today. I will learn more as we do more exploring of our area. I believe it is abandoned now and falling apart. Pueblos are traditional communities of Native Americans in the southwestern United States of America. The communities are recognized worldwide for their adobe buildings, which are sometimes called “pueblos”. Some pueblos only have a few of these buildings still standing. Of the federally recognized Native American communities in the Southwest, those designated by the King of Spain as Pueblos at the time treaties ceded Spanish territory to the United States are now legally recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs as Pueblos. Some of the Pueblos also came into the United States by treaty with Mexico, which briefly gained jurisdiction over territory in the Southwest ceded by Spain. There are 21 federally recognized Pueblos that are home to Pueblo people. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia HDR enhanced. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Cades Cove Methodist Church by Lisa G. Putman
The Cades Cove Methodist Church was constructed in 1902. / Methodists were active in the cove as early as the 1820s, and built their first meeting house in 1840. The church was rebuilt in 1920, this is the one that remains in the cove today. There are not many records of the early Methodist Church. The Cades Cove Methodist Church is included among those of the Holston Conference’s Little River Circuit in 1830. The present church building was built by Rev. John E. McCampbell in 115 days for $115. It had two doors and a physical divider to separate males and females. The cemetery contains at least 100 graves and is the second oldest church cemetery in the Cove. Methodists were not as dominant as Baptists in the Cove, but they served the community well. The Civil War and Reconstruction divided the members and dissidents formed the Hopewell Methodist Church on the opposite side of the Cove, which no longer stands. Brighton Pavillion by Kai-Marie Williams
So this little baby is the Brighton Pavillion / Built in the early 19th century as a ‘holiday home’ for the Prince Regent who later became King George IV. / He had been advised to come to Brighton because it was thought that the sea air would do him some good, he was suffering from gout (due to all the excessive partying no doubt, the mans a legend) Designer John Nash got his little paws on the Palace from the years 1815 to 1822 and created a stunning building heavily influenced by both Indian and Chinese styles / (I’ve been inside, its amazing and the kitchen is huge, not only did this man drink like a fish he also had staff including some of the most famous chefs of the time, preparing five course meals for him and his guests every night) Listening to ‘daft punk is playing at my house’ lcd soundsystem Any one else has any more information Id love to hear it

Cabin In The Woods by Ryan Nowell
This cabin was along a trail on the Metolius River across from Camp Sherman. Not sure if it was part of the rentals near by or not but it was in a great location. I liked the colors and the light coming in through the trees.
