I had to to into the city last week to organize some detail regarding an upcoming exhibition and afterwards I wandered back to Circular Quay and took some snaps of the wonderful towers of glass and stone that dominate that part of the city. Later on I processed the film I had shot in every so slightly oxidized film developer which has given me the most strangely odd texture to the final images….. I just love the way there are so many points to intervene with analouge…. sometimes that’s a bad thing and you lose everything but sometimes the risks are worth it and a really unexpected but interesting result takes place….. like in this shot and the next few I upload. I love strong shapes in architecture and the way that you can see patterns all around in the built environment…... the image is of the roof line of the Sydney Sofitel Hotel in Philip Street Sydney. The building is actually more of a horseshoe shape but no matter… I love it for its strong but defiantly non towering presence in this forest of megabuildings down by the harbour. /

As loans default and foreclosures increase, the lenders have to pay out more and more to hide the losses. But the lenders can only make this up by making more loans, because this is how they increase their cash flow; and now it is clear they can make nore loans, and thereby increase their cash flow only by simultaneously increasing their losses, since their “loans” are proving to be losers. So no one wants their”paper” anymore because-well-it’s the financial equivalent of toxic waste. The “subprime” stuff is just the first surge: the tidal wave is close behind. Because all of it, the subprime, the prime, the AAA and everything in between, is the product of a previously hidden, but now obvious…Ponzi scheme. This will never be finished….and if i should be reincarnated i will continue working on it again if i am able..i wil never sell the original either as i am continually adding to this very close to my soul and heart painting…it is sort of the root and seed …all else branches from…it is 5 1/2 ft wide by 4 ft height….on wood..very heavy wood..mixed media, but mainly acrylic
