EAGLE EYE SUNRISE by Spiritinme
My passion in photography is watching the sun rise and also sunsets. Michigan has beautiful sunrises and sunsets and many many lakes. The eagle is seen frequently. EXPERIMENTAL IN MERGING 2 IMAGES TOGETHER. IN THIS I USED A PHOTOGRAPH AND A PICTURE PAINTED IN COREL (THE EAGLE). i ERASED PARTS OF THE EAGLE’S WINGS TO GET THIS EFFECT, THEN MERGED THE EAGLE’S EYE DIRECTLY OVER THE SUN. i WANTED THE EAGLE TO BE TRANSPARENT AS TO SEE THE DETAIL OF THE PHOTO.

School Boy Rock by Lozzle
My good friend Keggy (real name Jack) in full school uniform being enviably good at playing the electric guitar. To make this image i cut around the main figure with the polygonal lasso tool and copied it to another layer. I made the background separately in two different parts, the purple and the cyan which were then merged. The circles were made using just the paintbrush and a filter. On the main image I used the find edges filter followed by a change in hue, and some clone-stamp and paintbrush work to neaten the image up. Finally I merged the background pattern (sorta echoing the flashing lights that there would be if he was on stage) with the main image to make this! the DC nightmares by navybrat
thanks so much ROMO / for allowing me to play with your image: / / from Romo’s picture of DC, / to the manipulative entrails of my PC… / distortions…using grid meshes and a perspective plug-in / digital paintings… the sun and the birds of sin, / dodges and burns and many a transparency, / to create the disturbed sky of mystery… / a dab of color enhancements and camera flares, / to constitute that dramatic effect imbuing nightmares… / channel mixers and noise reductions, / threshholds, 3d effects and tone corrections… / all constitute the creation / of this incubus amalgamation / of the horrific tribulation that besets / that Person in office…, yes in sorrow he frets….

Automaton by retepk
From the future perhaps. I would like to be able to fast forward, say, a thousand years into the future. What would it be like? What would it be like indeed. / Created in Photoshop. Involved combining portions of several photos with layered shapes and textures. Layering was mainly in Lighten mode. All had to be desaturated and blended to give a metallic appearance. Although I chose a lot of the shapes that already had a slight metallic look. Involved some replicating of layers and distortion to get each shape to merge with another. / I keep a bank of shapes and textures which I pick and choose to match the overall image. The red was provided by a photograph of reflected light inside an elevator.

Light From the Golden Gazebo by robpixaday
In the deep night of winter when all things are still / Starlight feels pity for Earth and descends, / Finding places of peace to inhabit, to fill / With warmth and with life. With hope it mends / The torn lace of our lives; with light it brings us home. Please take a look at the larger view, to see the texture…...Telephotoimage of a gazebo on the campus at Neumann College edited in Photoshop Elements 3. The image was full of sun-artifacts (my fault) and shot badly overall. I inverted the colors, pushed the contrast, used the tachyon filter and lighting effects (soft omni with pale gold as the light source, texture set to “mountainous,” with green high). Then I adjusted the contrasts again, to give more definition to the “texture.” / /

Dream fuse by retepk
Two photographs and layered Photoshop-generated textures and shapes. The two photos were mirrored and merged in Lighten mode. Some parts of the second image were then deleted. A copy of the second image was then motion blurred. The those texture and shape layers were then positioned and layered. Voila! Criticism welcome. / Title derived from the Tangerine Dream piece “Daliesque Sleep Fuse”.

Samulyae by retepk
The Samulyae – denizens of a far distant planet many light years from Earth. / Supposedly the descendants of a very early Earth mission who have survived the extreme environmental conditions there. Their external appearance evolved as a result of the high radiation levels on that planet. The barrenness of the planet makes their survival even more significant. They have requested passage back to Earth although we are uncertain, as yet, if this could be possible. The atmosphere on the planet, despite being almost similar to Earth’s, contains significant levels of some hydroxynitrous gases which we think could be a problem to synthesise. / Created in Photoshop. Combining a photo with Photoshop-generated shapes and textures. Firstly the face was significantly modified and then layered, in Lighten mode, with those shapes and textures. Resizing and some distortion was utilised to meld the components as smoothly as possible. The background was created in Bryce 6. / Criticism welcome.

Reverie by Jean Hildebrant
I shot this in natural light from a window and reflected light back on the model with a mirror on the opposite side of her. Adjustments made in PSCS3. This was “painted” with my Wacom Bamboo tablet using Corel Painter Essentials 4. This is my second attempt and I have so much to learn but I’m having a blast with my new Christmas present!! I wanted this to look like an oil painting and I used the oil paint>tapered camel hair brush for most of the paiinterly effects.

'What came first the chicken or the egg? ... by valzart
..Solved by….’Trudi’ won woot! ‘What came first the chicken or the egg ???;} happy hugglez.. ..... The chicken or the egg causality dilemma is commonly stated as “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” Chickens hatch from eggs, but eggs are laid by chickens, making it difficult to say which originally gave rise to the other. To ancient philosophers, the question about the first chicken or egg also evoked the questions of how life and the universe in general began.Cultural references to the chicken and egg intend to point out the futility of identifying the first case of a circular cause and consequence. It could be considered that in this approach lies the most fundamental nature of the question, for a literal answer is somewhat obvious, as opposed to the logical fallacy of the metaphorical view, which sets a metaphysical ground on the dilemma. So, to understand its metaphorical meaning better, it could be reformulated as follows: “Which came first, X that can’t come without Y, or Y that can’t come without X?”....................’Happy Easter’...chickensong... experimenting again..I took a photo of an egg then layered on a sketch of the chicken created on my Tablet + then merged +layered art media + colored+enhanced it+cloned/painted the colors on top.phew! lol!....

The Biotronn mark 12cX by retepk
A cybertronic, biomechanical, humanoid-like species from the We Make Biotronns Company in the Forty Fourth Galaxy. / With up-to-the-minute robotic programming they are geniuses when it comes to Electronics, Astrophysics, Mechanical Engineering and cooking. They can fix that leaking reactor core or that antenna outside on the hull or that busted microwave generator in seconds. / The Biotronn mark 12cX is a must to have on your crew for that next journey into space. / For more information go to uww.wemakebiotronns.com.fortyfourthgalaxy / Compiled in Photoshop from a combination of a photograph used in part as a template and elements in the image and shapes and textures I made in Photoshop. / Starting with the photograph the face was cut in two and mirrored then layered with the textures. Then using more of those shapes I distorted them to meld them onto the trunk of the person in the photograph then deleting that portion of the photo. Layering them in Lighten mode. Adding several shapes and textures together in some layers. Deleting excess elements of course. The headpiece was done in Bryce 6 and layered in. The arms were from some textures that already looked metallic and just elongated them. / I keep a bank of shapes and textures that I have created over the years which I am happy to admit that I recycle over and over again.

Flowers-mirror ball effect by mmills3080
I used the Photomatrix Pro 3.0 program to achieve this effect on a picture of some flowers. After you open your image, click on utilities, then select unwrap mirror ball. Make sure you save your image before you close it, it doesn’t prompt you to save it if you don’t click on save first ( it does prompt you to save if you use it for single image conversion for hdr).

Radiant in Red by Jean Hildebrant
I shot this in raw in very late afternoon. Made slight adjustments in PSCS3, opened it in Corel Painter Essentials 4, used the linen canvas textured surface, oil paint, impressionist style brush with my new Wacom Bamboo tablet. Wanted to give it the apprearance of an impressionistic painting. Psalm 121 (New International Version) Psalm 121 / A song of ascents. / I lift up my eyes to the hills— / where does my help come from? / My help comes from the LORD, / the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— / he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel / will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you— / the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, / nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— / he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going / both now and forevermore.

I have had several images published in print – over 4 pages in full colour featured in the latest issue (No. 24) of the UK magazine: the Corel Painter Official Magazine. I have a lot to be grateful for this year. Happy New Year!

Old man 'o the Forest... by valzart
...By day the old man of the forest lives in the tree, but at night when all is hushed and silent he becomes the tree. Springing to life with a mighty yawn and stretch he shakes the leaves from his hair and the dirt from his roots. Then he walks…rustling and gliding through the forest on his nightly patrol, making sure all is well within his hidden world…....Hush! if you sit very quietly and don’t move you might hear him ….Enchantedforest..... experimenting in Corel…I sketched the face on a raster background layer on my Tablet, then merged it onto a macro of bark then layered a vector for the graphics in Corel picture tube tool then cloned the bark over the first image + merged them all together + color filled+ enhanced lighting in Corel/Photoshop.. ‘Thinking of you’
