  • Granny moth / Old Lady moth - Dasypodia selenophora by Trevor Needham

Carol took the bedclothes away for washing and when she came back this gorgeous moth was sitting on the mattress (‘Eeek! Take it away!’) The moth was quite content to sit on my finger. Sadly, as you can see, it has a damaged antenna, presumably from fluttering around trying to get out of the bedroom. Not sure how it even got in there as the windows are screened. One of the mysteries of life :-)

  • Avalanche by lianne

I mentioned to a friend this morning two things – one, it had snowed like mad last night and I had to shovel 18 inches from the walks and drive before I’d even had a shower today AND it was still snowing as we spoke, and two, I’d not had my camera out of its case in over a month. That led to a somewhat “left-handed” dare – “Oh snow is so hard to capture!” This from an incredibly gifted photographer – lol. Naturally I had to see for myself – and this… and another image I’m about to post – is the result. It may not be the finest snow image ever – lol – either of them – but by golly I had to post something just to prove I tried. And by the way, western New York is in for more of the same tonite and tomorrow so I’ll have to do it all over again – oh, my aching back!!! Strykersville, NY – January 8, 2009

About This Group

A group where you can post images and stories from everyday life. Something interesting happens to all of us everyday – some of it good and some of it not so. That is the magic and wonder of life. The trick is to notice these things. This is the group to inspire you to notice and share these experience. Perhaps it is that wonderful smile from somebody who served you at the supermarket. Or the grumpy young man who tailgated you home. Maybe it customer service call from India (how cool is that!) that was really delightful. Or perhaps it was grandma telling a story..
The Latest winner of the EDLife Challenge was Cherishathome
