  • Stuart Chapman

    Stuart Chapman

This looks very antiquated (probably totally the wrong word – I’m going for 1920’s looking – oh – you know what I mean!) – like an old photograph found at the bottom of a wardrobe before you have to play the game of who is that in the picture (it must be my mum’s auntie’s mum or someone…..)

Like the dark framing around the edge and the image conjures up a lovely summers day (yes – despite the fact you douse your world in darkness – i can still feel that) when summer holidays lasted forever, lemonade was the best drink in the world and outside was your best source of entertainment.

  • Graham Dean

I often feel what you do with a lense is as if you’ve used a brush. In Ghost that brush is so sophisticated and emotional, I think the ghosts of Monet and Renoir must be jealous.lol. An amazing and beautiful work of art Deb. One of your most surprising and brilliant works.

another classic. it is ‘feeling’ in image form.

  • shawhouse

    shawhouse

...beaten to the comments again… I think she’s running with a bouquet… when I enlarge the image, the ectoplasm is obscured by a big “k”.... the image feels like a trip back in time… there might be the hint of someone standing in the shadow of the foliage, watching – just above the “o” in the enlargement….So much of your work is about recognizing hints, clues, slowing down to address the image properly and finding oneself drawn in….Also, big-ass letters…. :D
