great capture, fab expression, nice tones
Stuart Chapman
Don’t look back… That scary lady is still chasing me with a camera.
I would say great timing on the capture of the expression, but have a feeling that the expression is the eventual feeling of being continually photographed for a long period LOL.
Seriously – Great shot Deb, love the expression and the framing although the expression does give a real one of fear
Deborah Parkin in reply to Stuart Chapman’s comment
LOL!!! Stuat :)
You have no idea how hard this shot was – she is getting much faster lol!!! It was taken on film, with a really old camera – everything manual – including focus and a fixed lens – i was the zoom lol!!! and developed myself and scanned – and kids that won’t play anymore lol!!!
Thanks again for your great comment :)
Naomi Frost
After reading your above reply to Stuart, all I can say is WOW….you really are a very talented lady. =-)
Deborah Parkin in reply to Naomi Frost’s comment
Thanks Naomi – i got a bit carried away there lol!! I did have guidance in the darkroom from a great mentor – i can’t take all the credit lol!!! Thanks again :)
Helene Kippert

Graham Dean
Has that classic, this could be one of those great old time movies, feel to it.
Wonderful work of art Deb.

Film? Cool. What type? I mainly used Ilford 160 ASA as it always give nice punchy, contrasty results with fine grain. Are you using a neg scanner or a flatbed with neg adapter? In any case, with this shot especially, the quality of the scan is not an issue as you`ve achieved a result that totally fits the mood of the image… a bit surreal, and as full of tension as the look on her face. A massive feeling of apprehension. You totally nailed this!
Deborah Parkin in reply to billyboy’s comment
Thanks billyboy – it always means a lot when you stop by with your comments :) I usually use Ilford HP5 400 but i have a feeling this is me trying out Kodak 100 TMX – i had never used this one before but was happy with the results – the scanner is a flatbed with neg – i am not very techy though so i could be completely wrong lol!!! I am using film quite a lot at the moment as i have booked some days in the darkroom – which i LOVE!!!! I also bought a polaroid camera the other and i am totally addicted – it’s going to be an expensive hobby if i am not careful lol!!! Thanks again – lovely to hear from you):
