wow, thanks b… one of my 13 year old’s friend’s dad did it in adobe cs4. he is actually working on an even better one, but i was itchin’ to go ahead and share it. will drop you a note when he’s done with the new one. i created an FTP site and loaded a bunch of my art images and my friend’s song. vijay took all of that and did the rest!

Hi Ray, you’ve created something really beautiful here :) I always listen to music while I’m painting, so it’s a natural marriage for me. Your use of colour is striking and the sympathetic coupling with the lyrics really made it work. LOVE that song btw, thanks for the ‘it’s not country’ warning!!

that was fun. my favorite part is the spinning circle wanting to be held. also, as an x txan, i saw many tx landscapes for a while in there. great song, too. thanks

Ray Schloss in reply to Marie Monroe’s comment

cool! thanks, marie. it’s funny, the spinning circle is a detail from what i consider to be probably the lamest thins i’ve ever painted. but, i like the circle part as well, so glad that you do too! :0)

    Received your calling…
    Contemplated your work..
    heard the festive song..
    All great…
i wonder how can you do the “turning around” of the image .. it is a beautiful effect… giving the impression of a working “mandala”... You have a curious and exact using of colours cold and warm… in harmony… in yuxtaposition and in blending and chromatic chording…
It is really agreable to contemplate it.. and the colour is really good, the definition .. I would have loved to the a larger view of each work, though they are meant this way in order to make them “blend”....I will have to look into your stream for tha.
    Congratulations
    Rosa

    very kind comments, rosa. thanks!

a friend of mine did the video editing using Adobe’s C4 suite. the video editing portion of that application allows you to rotate images, pan left and right, etc.

if you are using a PC, try MSFT Movie Maker, which is included on both XP and Vista. same idea as C4, but fewer features (but hey!, it’s free!)

    best to you… :0)

Thanks a lot. I am looking for doing something likely with photos. I have C3… shortly I will have C4… but I-movie can do it.. not rotating the image I bet. Iwork on a Mac. .. I will try with I-movie even I do not think it can rotate…I’ll announce it….

The video is incredible, the images combined with the music is very powerful and emotive…a meditation on color and sound. I am currently listening to more of Ben’s work (Thanks For The Link) and I am absofreakinlutely in love with the song “It’s Personal”. Thank you for sharing this.

  • Ray Schloss

Ray Schloss in reply to AmandaGWright’s comment

wow… that’s interesting, because of all of ben’s songs the other one we really thought about using was “it’s personal” but opted for “how do i cope” instead. he (and his wife) are very talented… glad that you enjoyed it! :0)
