How dangerous is it to walk in the woods by the shore
Treacherous paths obstacles to surmount
At every stage of your journey you’re watched
Will they see goodness … evil … unsure
The trees close in thick reaching high to the sky
Careful the copses that entrap you
You can barely see blue grey or black
Never the stars or the birds flying by
Your skin creeps with feelings alien to your mind
Touched by phantoms twigs bugs wind
Your feet itch to run your mind numbed still
Step Breathe Step … just one foot at a time
But be certain your steps will lead you on out
The wood is only as big as it is
You can only ever go half way in
Then you’re leaving … even if you turn about
~ Keep an Eye on the Wood! ~
I found an Irish artist orouke who’s work the woods drew me into my poetry again
as they say you cant see the woods for the trees and at the moment I am feeling a bit hemmed in by trunks!
Thank you O’Rouke for reminding me of my peaceful Irish ancestry.

This captures the feeling I get when I wander off into the bush. Am I half way in or half way out. It closes in and opens up almost on command. The mystery of the bush. Lovely
