Helen, this is outstanding. It’s like the child is waiting for us to bail out—to walk out the door and get away from the squalor and trash and hopelessness and try to forget what we’ve seen, ‘just like everyone else does’. Because it’s too painful and we can’t believe our powerful and rich leaders would engage in such criminal neglect. So well-lit and well thought-out.

So Helen, I see there are many pictures of this child crying and miserable. Maybe you outta spend more time loving the child rather than using him as a prop in your pictures to express your hate towards the very country that provides a safe place for your ungrateful self to live.

  • Tammy Soulliere

Tammy Soulliere, about 1 year ago

Eric I do not see the child as crying and … I feel you comment was unruly! this IS a reality here in america though! *note next to comment box (Please play nice) *

  • Erics

    Erics, about 1 year ago

Wow Helen you surprised me by not calling me a cuss word. Since I made a comment that is not what you agree with, go ahead and cry to RB so that they will take it off. Oh, and then go ahead and send me a nasty bubblemail so nobody knows how hateful you really are.

  • Helen Bascom
  • Suzanne German

Suzanne German, about 1 year ago

Helen it’s great that you are brave enough to stand and be counted and say it how it is!
Others may look listen and take not of what you are depicting…..so far everything I have seen you post has been grounded in sad reality.

People shooting the messenger are just shooting the messenger

better to see what’s behind the imagery and ask intelligent questions and produce intelligent responses that make sense.

Good on you for having the courage to put the truth as you see it out there!

    Suzannex

  • Suzanne German

Suzanne German, about 1 year ago

Erics….take a good look at Helen’s portfolio…see what she is about….and then ask yourself what do I wnat to say to this intelligent and brave woman who cares!
then write something that makes sense!

    suzanne

  • Erics

    Erics, about 1 year ago

I think this page is more appropriate. You enjoy sending private mail to other users getting them to argue with you when you know it is on a subject they are passionate and sensative about. When someone gives you a taste of your own medicine, you turn it in as innappropriate because you can’t take the debate when are attacked. If you wanna make your little pictures of a miserable little boy, do so, but don’t go and invite people to visit it when you know it is only going to create conflict. J.M.O.

  • Erics

    Erics, about 1 year ago

suzanne, you obviously have not been in our her little debates. She is nasty. However, RB as decided that they were inappropriate so they were deleted. FOWL FOWL LANGUAGE…

  • Tammy Soulliere

Tammy Soulliere, about 1 year ago

seems to me “eric” you are the one who is doing the arguing here.. no one else..

This is america .. this IS REALITY .. I know I live in it I see it.. and for the love of something go do something to help better the world.. maybe even open your eyes to the fact of what is really going on..

  • Erics

    Erics, about 1 year ago

Tammy, there is no argument here. This is simply me stating my opinion on this picture. That’s all. Oh, and a little “2 cents” for her character. Her “portfolio” reminds me of an old saying.

“Good lookin from a far, but far from good lookin’”

When you sift through all the false passion, you find yourself emerged in hate.

  • Tammy Soulliere

WELL HELEN NOW YOU’VE GONE AND DONE IT AGAIN. BROUGHT REALITY INTO THIS SITE AND PISSED OFF ERICS. TRUST ME ON THIS, erics IS A MEMBER OF OUR RELIGIOUS, RIGHT. NOT FOR ONE SECOND DOES HE BELIEVE IN WELCOMING ALL OF GODS CREATURES. I WILL ASSUME THAT ERICS TAKES THE BIBLE PRETTY MUCH LITERALLY. ERICS MIGHT WELCOME OTHER PEOPLES “OPINIONS”, BUT FOR CAUSE ONLY. ASK ERICS WHERE A GAY PERSON IS GOING IF DEATH SHOULD BEFALL THEM. OR A PERSON WHOM DOES NOT TAKE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR SAVIOR. ERICS IS GIVING ANYONE HIS “OPINION”, JUST WHAT HIS WARPED SENSE OF REALITY IS. TRUST ME HE CANNOT COMPREHEND THAT BEING A “TRUE AMERICAN”, A “TRUE PATRIOT” IS THE RIGHT TO TALK SH-T ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS “GREAT” COUNTRY OF OURS. THE CHILD AS “PROP”? IT IS CALLED ART ERICS, TO MAKE A POINT ERIC, WHY NOT MAKE YOUR POINT WITH A CAMERA, OR A POEM, OR A PAINTING. I LIVE HERE TOO, YOU ARE EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY. YOU ARE SO BLINDED BY YOUR PATHETIC, BLIND, IGNORANT AND BUSH DRIVEN FAKE PATRIOTISM, TO OPEN UP YOUR EYES AND NANO-SIZED BRAIN TO REALIZE THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS LIKE THE ONE ABOVE, AND YOU MR. LOVE YOUR COUNTRY, DO NOTHING, TO REMEDY THEM. BUT WHINE ABOUT CUSS WORDS, IMBECILE.

I watched a very interesting documentary about the Bush family a few days ago. I was shocked to learn that his grandfather was one of Hitlers personal investors!
While George Bush senior was fighting the Nazis, his own father was funding the enemy to supply the Germans with weapons! now that has got to be the largest conflict of interest in the history of mankind. It actually makes me sad to have to share the same species with these people.

..out getting a bite to eat in the streets of Melbourne (Aust) I walked past a few homeless people either wondering aimlessly or just sitting with a small note in front asking for a spare change. Anyway, being stuck in my own perfect little world getting ready for my perfect little Christmas a thought suddenly hit me.. How f@#king lucky am I to have what I have, to be able to provide food, cloths and life’s luxuries to my family, have a job ETC and every day take it for granted. I come back jump onto RB and view/ read your series, some comments made and realize this all over again just how lucky I am.
Helen, I think what you have done here with this series is fantastic, a real eye opener and so thought provoking, this is the real world… A world that many of us (my-self included) ignore and chose to continue spending our cash on things we do not need, throw out copious amounts of uneaten food especially this time of year) without giving the suffering a second thought. What a world we live in.
