Good morning Doug,
What would happen if I fired it in kiln? Would the glass and grout meld together? It is placed on a simple glass sheet so you can see through it.
Is there some way to gradually heat the piece to the point of melding? Thanks for the generous comment.
Peace to you

hello, Beth-I fear you are too late after grouting, although I have never attempted such a thing. Glass fires at a lower temp than ceramics and in future you might try placing the mosaic on a sheet of fusible glass, clear, tinted, whatever and firing the piece to fuse the pieces together. A local glass studio might be able to supply the glass and maybe a class on the technique. Peace
