New Dawn

Will this feeling linger past the morning light?
Will he still care when passion is spent
or does he just love me for tonight?

These hours past weigh sweetly on my mind
as I watch the droplets of rain waltz down the
window, softly sparkling with reflected moonlight.

He sleepily sighs and drifts into slumber to the
soft lullaby of rain. What thoughts will linger in
the caverns of his mind to awaken from slumber
in the morning light?

Will our hearts deceive us? Will we seek to avoid
one anothers gaze in the blazon sun? Dear God I
couldn’t bear the rejection, the loss!

My search for love has oft been lost in the alleyways
of time and my fate is yet to be known. There is still
that inner yearning and wanton hope for better days
and love.

Only time knows…

Maybe tomorrow will tenderly cradle on her horizon
the dawn of a newborn love. As the flowers are
refreshed in the morning dew, perhaps love will
awaken renewed.

I draw closer snuggling to his chest murmuring a
a silent prayer, that tonight’s promises and dreams
will be tomorrow’s victory. Night drifts by on wings
of hopeful anticipation…

Darling, wake up, a new dawn is arising!
He awakens,
he turns to me,
and he smiles.
