i just started this, “Cat’s Eye”. Great so far. This is exquisite Paul, so much emotion and suspense. Love the whites of her eyes, so striking. Her expression is one of sorrow and pain. The light background against her darkness is pure brilliance. Bravo Paul!!!!!!!! Your new avatar is wonderful, too, you look so happy, love the black fingernail. (Getting to your latest bm now, been a bizy day, hope your deliruim has passed, hugs to you, :O)))))) So love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes….when she encounters her when she’s on the bank, it sticks with her, and what a fantastic image to pluck out of that book! she really believed in it for quite a long time.
ellejayerose
such a sincere, well-constructed accompanyment illustration. U know I am a sucker for Religious Iconography – in all it’s macarbe formats… St. Lucy would be proud!
Paul Compton in reply to ellejayerose’s comment

marksatchwillart
As usual , a striking and beautiful image. I read this book, oh, more years ago than I care to remember (in 1991 I think lol) but I’m ashamed to say I can’t remember much about it…I will have to dig it out and dust off my memories..
Paul Compton in reply to marksatchwillart’s comment
Thank you Mark. When I first read the book about seven or eight years ago I didn’t really enjoy it that much but I felt compelled to return to it. Each time I’ve read it since I have fallen more in love with it and the imagery really haunts and enraptures me. I recommend dusting off your copy : )
Firedrake
A beautiful figure. I’ve only read A Handmaid’s Tale by Atwood, but I do mean to read more…
Paul Compton in reply to Firedrake’s comment
Thank you Firedrake. Handmaid’s Tale is amazing but Cat’s Eye is better in my opinion and has more of a personal resonance to me. I recommend it : )
