This is my favorite of your work.
Gritty, real, the moment after some effort was made.
We missed the music, but must appreciate the levity of the effort.

    Nice work all round.
Is there nothing more sexy then a girl with a musical instrument? :)

    Good luck.

thankyou for your appreciation. did you see this in the Melbourne Group Competition? Its staying up in the top eight of the Exhibition comp…very exciting. There may also be some of that music linked to this picture in the future….thanks for visiting : )

Some months back, I listened to a small group culled from the los angeles symphony that included harpsichord, viola di gamba, dueling recorders and a host of less interesting instruments, and it was wonderful. Couldn’t take my eyes off of the two musicians sawing away on this instrument… the angle, framing & tones make for a stunning image. a fave.

thank you thank you..and wonderful that you have actually heard the instrument and KNOW that it isn’t a cello.

should have asked before…do you have a program from the concert or just something to make it searchable? I would really like to know who the Gamba and recorder players were and what the music was that they played. (musician as well you know) If you like that combination (and voices) Bach’s cantata Actus Tragicus has two Gambas and two recorders and some of the most beautiful vocal setting you will ever find.

I’ll do a little investigation.. It was a while ago, but I may get lucky.

All I could come up with are the names of the two people playing recorder – Giovanni Antonini and Inga Funck….

  • Persimmon

Persimmon in reply to shawhouse’s comment, 5 months ago

hey thanks. Giovanni is from Il Giardino Armonico, sensational player I have seen him playing Vivaldi on a sopranino. don’t know Inga. There aren’t that many Gamba players around and i have attended workshops with quite a few of them…thanks for the info, let me know if you hear any others!
