Thank you all, not sure if anyone noticed but sitting above the main connecting shaft at the top is a black silhouette, looks almost like a small figure with wings, still can’t work that out as there was nothing above the main shaft there….interesting!!!!!

this is amazing! I could stare at this for a long time, and without the cues of the trees, wouldn’t even have a clue as to size… well done.

Hans Kawitzki, 6 months ago
what an amazing image it must have been a mighty long exposure
Steve Chapple in reply to Hans Kawitzki’s comment, 6 months ago
Hans, around 40 seconds, the Ferris Wheel is small and turns quite rapidly and the outer buckets have lighting which helps with the effect!
Megan Martin, 6 months ago
WOW! This is amazing…it looks like its going incredibly fast!
Michael Rowley..., 6 months ago
fantastic work, truely a great image well done
Steve Chapple in reply to Megan Martin’s comment, 6 months ago
Thank you Megan, probably close to 40 second exposure once it started turning, it is only a small wheel so it was not that fast!

“trippy” was the first word that sprang to mind, but that does not do justice to how clever this is. I love night shots and long exposures (more so because I have yet to get a handle on them!) This is a fantastic result.

Very cool Stephen. The long exposure has really worked a treat on this one. I sure wouldn’t want to be riding a Ferris Wheel that is spinning that fast!! :P

This is a fascinating image and really shows how the ordinary can become extraordinary. The depth the movement has created is surreal and intruiging. Wonderful shot.
