Oh my he is certainly a scruffy looking little fella isn’t he? He must be no threat to the birds- they seem trusting enough to turn their backs on him and go about the business of finding food. They must be friends? I really love the bird in the air!! That is lovely!!

Wonderful image. What a great story telling image. interesting to see how the radius around the cat is clear from pigeons. even a one eye cat can be dangerous. Excellent capture of the bird in flight. An instant fave for me.

I’m hoping that the fact that he only has one eye has nothing to do with the other being pecked out! Thought this was PR for a minute with all of those pigeons. Love the description you’ve given this shot. Sweet.

  • Von McKnelly

I think Jack ruled this little park and his winged buddies were his subjects.

This is a stunning masterpiece of photographic prowess. It is perfect in every way. THAT you caught the one-eyed bandit is utterly astonishing, and then, the birds, AND the composition? The cat’s expression, that bird, wings spread like an avenging angel, in flight, to save his kind???

THIS IS AMONG THE FINEST IMAGES I HAVE EVER SEEN. AND THAT’S AFTER YEARS OF COLLEGE DEGREES AND OTHER MEANINGLESS PURSUITS! All made worth it, at this moment, as I view THIS piece, and sit, in stunned silence.

    THIS IS PHOTOGRAPHY.

Always did love this one! Jack looks quite perplexed yet intriqued lol. Perhaps he was either in his glory with all those birds or felt alittle unsure on how he should get out of the situation lol.

What a brilliant capture of ordinary life, being extra ordinary.

I think that pigeon is thinking, “Yes! That guy has him distracted, now I can poop on his head! Buwahaha”

    Right then…

  • LoisBryan

Oh, Von … I’m laughing!!! He’s sitting among the birds, quietly, contemplating his lovely brunch and hoping you don’t scare it all away!!!! But what a FABULOUS candid!!! Just read Amanda’s comment … and laughing even harder now!!!! Darling, darling image!!!!! Well found and well shot!!!!!

I think that you may have interupted a secret political meeting.
You know, members of the mafia come in all shapes … and all sizes.
I can imagine Jack the Cat saying:
“Hey, I thought I said no cameras … Vinnie (the flying bird) get that guy out of here.”
    Fantastic job.
But, I do fear for your safety.
