    Thanks Col...

Thanks Col for permitting me to use your wonderful, dotty image! :P / A collaboration by accident of sorts… ;) oxo Just a small, silent sentiment, extended through the fibre optic cables of cyberspace to an old friend. I want to create an image from it one day, before, both the concept and feeling fade from my failing memory forever… There are many, tormented, creative, lost souls out there, drifting around in space, infinitely and endlessly just like us… We’re all simply floating around like shining, particles of dust, trying to find ourselves, in order to be able to connect the dots… No need to respond, I just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone… xox I’m not sure if he’ll ever really be able to hear it… the scary thing is… Tomorrow I may not even mean it any more. xox Goldilocks and the 3 Soul Dots The strange but true story of an uploaded image… It sure took a while to be able to get it up there… ;) / -wow… that first one was big… ;-o / hmm… now it’s too small…:( / -okay, let’s try again… 3rd time lucky maybe… / I feel like freaking goldilocks lapping up the porridge!:\ / -sigh… / damn! / shit! / fuck it! / aaaaaargh! / -I _shall persevere with this…:| / -mmmm? / mmmmmmmmmmm… / aaaaaaaaaaaah…. / Yes!!!:) / -Finally!:) / -Just right! / sigh… / the end

weeeheeee I can now add, sold from gallery26! lucky lady, Talia is the new proud owner! rainbow stripes / merge to Rob ‘the guy’ clements / and also “emerge” ( a variation) to Theresa, Rob’s lady and now in 2008 summer flow dots / as well as recent painting (image to come) / from the last exhibition at North Sydney / More sold than I’d ever imagined, so I thought I share what did sell with all and sundry! fish / / (it was a different version, on two canvases, but did I take a photo of it? nope-forgot!...another small yellow landscape also sold which I don’t have a photo of…) / and commissioned paintings sold(for someone on a tight budget!) all three together / yoga star (also a t-shirt) / and earlier this year, dandelion / the irony is, I always think people like light coloured work, because they’re easy to live with-but I love the bright stuff…and everyone who’s bought my art also seems to! update, update! from north sydney-3more to add! the red / the blue / and the brown, which is the same as the blue. There you go! 10 from the north sydney show. How wonderful. It really made my day! ( I heard yesterday!) Life gets better everyday!

Body of work that is. ;) It is with great pleasure I show you the art that is now in a better place, gone, not to meet their maker, but their founder. The person who will shall the rest of their life-their new admirer. To say it clearly-I have sold some art this year! Rather than tack it into the last journal entry, I’ve decided to make a 2008 sales list. It’ll help me keep track. (mwah ha ha, because it’s wonderfully popular). Yes, it’s great to feel that way sometimes. Often, I go, “that’s nice, achievement made” without really appreciating how awesome that feels. You make art, and if someone else likes it, it is wonderful. I bought an art magazine recently which nominated 50 of the most collectable artists in Australia. I’ve decided I’d like to be on that list. Of course, I’d like to remain anonymous so I can walk down the street, and have an agent…other than that, no clue as to how it will happen, just that I need to keep painting. Anyhoo. I went rollerblading once. It felt so good, I thought I could do this forever. It was like-I’m good at this, I can do it-I’m going fast, not falling over: I could be an olympic racer. Totally normal. Totally human to dream. However dreams require effort. Here are some of the dreams I put into reality, shared with the world and belong in other hands. As of 2008. building a bridge-maroon dots / summer flow.+ / Gallery 26 second opening texture of sound / Fish face / the big O-yeah / clean to Damian / pulses of knowing to Rob / red eye to Rob / butterfly type twp to Teresa / “woodley”: to Rob / ! thank Robs-your a fantastic patron!

An avid lover of night photography, I recently found myself wondering why most city scapes seem the same and a little monotonous. On my latest night shoot adventure, my mind wandered and I wasn’t really taken in by the shots I was getting on this particular night. Decidedly photography as a medium requires following certain guidelines to get that ‘perfect’ shot with composition, light etc. Even though I took hundreds of still, tripod supported shots, I envisioned a more arty, abstract approach. The result is a series of seemingly accidental, out of focus, spots of light. Like a day dream the images are dreamy, a soft focus on the world. I see macro and astronomical worlds in each shot, inner and outer space. Reflective and comforting, the circles of light hover above a stark, but soothing blackness. A distant memory, slowly awaking from sleep, an instant before you’re aware of reality, everything seems soft and safe.
