Shot this back in November, 2004, when the grass was much greener, and there was water in the dam. There’s only been water in that dam one other time since then, and it lasted around 6 weeks….this is a nice reminder of what we used to have…. I had never seen ducks sleep before and hadn’t given it much thought. These ducks were in Larspur, Colorado in a very rural area. Perhaps they sleep during the day because the predators come out at night.
