“As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church…” / (Corinthians -Chapter 14: – v33-35 ) No offense intended toward anyone’s personal beliefs, but I’ve often thought that women who call themselves Christians make about as much sense as black people joining the KKK or Jews becoming Neo-Nazis…. / Of course it wasn’t the person known as Christ who made these misogynistic statements (just as he never spoke out against homosexuality. – in fact the only thing that seemed to really get his proverbial goat was religious hypocrisy and greed – hmmmmm…. makes me wonder what he would think about the state of Christianity today!), but taken as a whole – the Bible is a collection of stories that portray women either as whores, adulteresses, or temptresses. Of course there is “the Blessed Virgin” but she only achieved that exalted status because she didn’t use her vagina for anything other than childbirth…. (This is one of my older pieces and a manipulation of my dear friend MuerteBella )

A church is not made up of bricks and stones. It is made up of all the people who go there. The people are the lifeblood and purpose of the gathering place we call “My Church”. I was a member of this wonderful church in Orange, California called Orange Villa Bible Church. But we moved away from there and now we are seeking a new one. The new church we attend will have to go a long way to live up to the standards of this little church in Orange, California. The people and the pastor and his family made this the greatest church we have ever attended. They teach the word of God and are not afraid to stand up for the truth. The pastor always gave messages that touched the heart and soul when he shared his inspiration and teachings from the pulpit or in any personal capacity. We had wonderful family gatherings where everyone brought a dish, we played games, baseball, horse shoes, and much more. The whole atmosphere of the church is love and caring for one another and the love of Jesus Christ. I did this art as a composite to represent the whole church as I see it. I combined a picture of the church, the pastor and many of the members. I used overlays and special editing with Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx to create the finished work. My dog River posing for a portrait in the snow. She has ALWAYS liked her picture being taken since she barely opened her eyes at two weeks of age. Her litter mates ran around when the camera aimed at them but she stood in attention every time a photo opportunity showed up! :) I’m sure she’d be glad that I donate the proceed of the sale of her photos to Nature Canada as she loves woods and her deer friends as much as I do! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

”The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 (NIV) God’s Spirit can guide and teach us through his word in such surprising ways. When God sends a message to us through scripture it is never by accident. In Isaiah 55:11, God says that wherever He sends His word it never returns empty, but always achieves the special purpose for which it was sent. Prayerfully consider the verse that inspired this painting and know that the Mighty God of all the heavens has reached out to touch you this moment. part of the Orthodox Christian Soldier series ENCYCLOPEDIA LITAE (Litai), a personification of the prayers offered up in repentance. They are described as the daughters of Zeus, and as following closely behind crime, and endeavouring to make amends for what has been done; but whoever disdains to receive them, has himself to atone for the crime that has been committed. (Hom. Il. ix. 502, &c.; Eustath. ad Hom. p. 768; Hesych. s. v. Aigai, calls them Aetae, which however is probably only a mistake in the name.) Back in the deep summer, when all were in blossom and the leaves were rich in color and taste, the doe had plenty of time to experience the “other things” in life than just search for food. One day she decided to figure out what creature it was that I carried around with me and pushed at the top of the “head” from time to time to make a sound. She came so close to the lens that I had to quickly change to a wide-angle one in order to take this photo. Right after that instant, she took another step further to “pat” my “pet” with her tongue! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park

A portrait of Jesus Christ with bubble-like clouds and bubbly scallops at the end of one of the background graphics. I chose to depict Jesus in this graphic manner without fleshtones in order to overthrow the stereotypical Jesus that is widely familiar to the public therefore taking a step toward making HIS image more inclusive to people of all cultural backgrounds. I do admit that HIS facial structure and wavy hair excludes the characteristics of many cultures.
