Cog sincerely wants to believe that a greater being cares about her personally
by IncognitaUS$4.28–US$114.00
Studly frequently comments (to himself, naturally) that this simply reflects Cog’s belief that she IS the centre of the universe. He can’t imagine why she would need an imaginary friend when she has him.

I attended a local festival this weekend and noticed that items personalized with letters were among the top sellers in the various vendors’ booths. There’s just something about an initial that attracts attention. So here’s something different, “C is for . . .” someone who loves cardinals and whose name starts with a C: Catherine, my daughter and Chrissy, my daughter-in-law, Caroline, Chloe, Connie, Charlie, Chester, Conrad, Christine, Chad, Cooper, Christopher, Chris, Christy, etc. Wouldn’t it be cute to include inside this note card a list of all the words starting with C that describe that loved one? C is for courageous, captivating, conversational, creative, caring, cooperative . . . Just an idea; maybe someone can fly with it. Maybe someone named Charlotte! or Cheryl!

I am a snob when it comes to Art, I try not to be, but I am. I’ve studied it my whole life since 1st grade and loved it as deeply as humanly possible, I prefer realism, traditional, oils, w/c etc. the way it was taught and done since the 1500s. Its just what I like. I have learned to love others, photography, abstract, but even here I prefer to look at the traditionals, Ansel Adams, Kline, Picasso, etc. And not the Guy who dumps gallons of paint behind a jet, where it blows onto a giant canvas!, Or the Guy who drops steel girders into a giant pit of concrete! I don’t mean to close my mind, but it happens, I’m sure there are many an Artist out there who do not like my trees or horses because they look too much like what I’m representing. Hell, just take a picture! I’ve been told, though I’m just as much against photorealism as accident art, I cherish though, that I am welcome to my opinion, that I can relate to like minds here and other places. Art is so much bigger than me, or you, or anybody! I teach Art and I tell all, beginner or advanced alike first thing- THERE ARE NO RULES IN ART!! there, thats my only rule, and don’t listen to that one either if you like. Art is as personal as our hairstyle, or clothes, or the food we eat, we can do anything we want! I wrote all this so I could give an honest opinion about something, but I never want to offend any other artist, so I said all that so no one will take this personally—- I don’t like light gray and white drawings, I don’t like finished drawings made with #2 pencils. They are a book keeping tool, they can be used to map out a painting or drawing, but to me, black and white should be just that. Charcole, ink, Prismacolor, even 6b lead or Ebony pencils. I was once asked to Judge a kids art show once, it was all #2 pencil and from across the room you could not tell anything about the works, just light gray forms, mostly white. I’ve been in construction all my life, (alas we must pay for our art habits) I was doing trim woodwork and a Master Carpenter asked me “Wow, thats a big old framers pencil you are using there, huh?, Can I see it?” “Sure!” I said, “here.” He took out his hammer and smashed my new pencil on the concrete and said, “Go out to my truck and get yourself a #2 pencil out of the glove box and sharpen it, you got to have the right tool for the job, framers pencils make too fat a line for our work!” Thats the way I feel about gray and white drawings, make them “BLACK” and WHITE drawings! .....(unless gray and white are what your going for of course!!)
