Morning rainbow, Jokulsarlon, Iceland Iceland / Belgium / Italy / France / Hungary / Spain / Sri Lanka / USA / London / Portraits / Other Jokulsarlon is a glacial lake that meets the sea in Iceland. One of the most beautiful places i have been on our little planet Earth. The tragedy is that this beautiful photo would not be possible without global warming. When in a cafe at a petrol station i saw a postcard of Jokulsarlon. One single large iceberg floating in the centre. As you can see now the lake is full. Note: The size if this work was increased using Photoshop CS2. / Best size being around the 50cm wide.

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Snow Gum (Eucalyptus pauciflora) A medium-sized, often crooked tree has a short trunk to 1m diameter. It is low-branching with a spreading open crown. It sheds its bark in irregular patches in autumn, leaving a smooth white to yellow, olive-green or brown surface, occasionally with scribbly markings from insect lavae. Flowers appear in spring and early summer. They are white or cream. From my collection: / Song of a Dream ~ The Golden Threshold / © 2008 ~ Fine Art Photography by Sharon Anne Mau Sunset near Goldstream / Interior Alaska “There is a quiet spirit in these woods, / That dwells where’er the gentle south-wind blows; / Where, underneath the white-thorn, in the glade, / The wild flowers bloom, or, kissing the soft air, / The leaves above their sunny palms outspread. / With what a tender and impassioned voice / It fills the nice and delicate ear of thought, / When the fast ushering star of morning comes / O’er-riding the gray hills with golden scarf; / Or when the cowled and dusky-sandaled Eve, / In mourning weeds, from out the western gate, / Departs with silent pace! That spirit moves In the green valley, where the silver brook, / From its full laver, pours the white cascade; / And, babbling low amid the tangled woods, / Slips down through moss-grown stones with endless laughter. / And frequent, on the everlasting hills, / Its feet go forth, when it doth wrap itself In all the dark embroidery of the storm, And shouts the stern, strong wind. Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

Snow Gums grow in alpine areas of Australia / The bark of Eucalyptus pauciflora is smooth and white to light grey or sometimes brown-red, shedding in patches or strips to give a mottled appearance. The adult leaves are usually lanceolate to broadly-lanceolate with distinct lateral veins, but may be narrowly ovate. I have finally found out what this plant is called and I was close with my original title of ‘Snowdrops’, which is just what popped into my head when I looked at this plant. I now know it is commonly called Snow Queen, hence the title change. If anyone is desperate to know, its botanical name is Pieris.
