When I first came to Redbubble, I only had a couple pieces to post. I always reduced the size of my photos before editing them(making them too small for here), just didn’t have a reason to keep them full size until Redbubble. Anyways, I threw this pic up, just so I had more than 2 posted. I didn’t really even like it. The original shot’s exposure was all kinds of screwed up. I edited so much, I was just plain sick of it. But like I said, it was a filler pic. I sooo did not expect the amount of attention it received, much less that it sold. I’ve actually grown to really like it too. So I thought I’d share this, and the original shot with everyone. So here it is: This piece was my very first sold piece. It was also chosen for the Featured Art Page (before group featuring), featured in A Photographer’s Craft group, and was a finalist in the May US Scenic Photo Contest. It was taken in the Springtime. I combiined the original image with one of my hawk images. Merged the two in Photoshop CS3 then added the Orton effect for the final results. Digitaly enhanced art. The Huntington’s superb botanical gardens cover 120 acres (485,624 m²) and the theme gardens contain rare plants from around the world. The gardens are divided into more than a dozen themes, including the Australian Garden, Camellia Collection, Children’s Garden, Desert Garden Conservatory, Conservatory for Botanical Science, Desert Garden, Herb Garden, Japanese Garden, Lily Pond, North Vista, Palm Garden, Rose Garden, Shakespeare garden, Subtropical and Jungle Garden and a Chinese Garden (Liu Fang Yuan 流芳園 or the Garden of Flowing Fragrance) now open in the northern end of the property. To me, sailing is like flying…a type of freedom unlike any other…the wind in your face, the cool spray of water, the salt sea air…leave all your cares behind and let’s go sailing away. I started with a photograph I took in Dana Point Harbor. Then I used Micrgrafx to add a painterly effect. After that I used Photomatix to deepen the colors with HDR. A digitaly manipulated photo to appear as a painting.The mountain stream helps substain life both below and above the surface.A stream’s ecosystem includes the area immediately around the stream—the damp banks and vegetation on both sides, the trees that hang over it, the air above it. And it includes the stream’s entire watershed as well.We should do what we can to help preserve these beautiful wonders of nature before much of its flora and fauna are gone.

Well, we finally got moved to Arizona. Still have a lot of unpacking to do. Got a chance to go out to Oatman, an old west town just outside of Bullhead City. Got a chance to take a few pictures. This one is of an old car outside an antique shop on Boundary Cone Road just before you get into Oatman. Oatman is known for it’s burro population that roams freely on the streets and into the local shops. It is a popular tourist site. I processed the image in hdr.
