This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

My mother has this lovely spirit about her which I have always admired. As children we grew up with my grandfather’s video camera pointed at us and my mother’s point and shoot. At this Christmas just passed, I was taking family photos and became very aware that all the grandchildren were happy to have their photo taken and even went out of their way to pose and give me their attention for a moment. You could see them ‘sense’ when a candid was coming and stop chewing their food. I found it entertaining. But I’m on a tangent! I spent a weekend in McCrae taking photos, eating nice things and going for drives and bike rides. On the last day we headed up one of the local piers and there were quite a few tourists taking advantage of the long weekend. Watching others having their holiday portraits taken I was reminded of how my mother would aim her camera at us and in an attempt to make us smile, yell out in her lovely sing song way “Say Holidays” Thanks to my collab partner James / Check out joobrien.com.au

Suddath Due to a successful brook trout restoration program, for the first time in 30 years, anglers are now able to fish for brook trout in park streams of the Smoky Mountains. These streams were once ruined by logging. The brook trout was also rooted out my non native rainbow and brown trout. Our waters are precious for our life and all of natures, help keep them clean. This image was taken on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, Great Smoky Mountain N.P.

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado…..and how I love shooting up there when the winter weather begins to roll on in…the wind is bad, the air—-freezing cold, but the images that one can capture are filled with atmosphere and drama, case in point, this shot here. Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) My mate AffectMachine made a card/print in response to Seashore Sally entitled – She Being – Response to Sea Shore Sally Seashore Sally by Karin Taylor is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper (ink pastel acrylic charcoal) I drew/painted this a long time ago, it was the first time i applied a real face to a painting, ie real eyes instead of dots etc. and I wasn’t very happy or confident about doing it at the time, as I had done only dots for eyes, and the lady who purchased it asked me if i could apply a face for her…after i did it, she said it reminded her very much of her sister in law, luckily…she liked her sister in law! lol

Acrylic On Canvas Ophelia,Phoebe and Mel having fun on the elephant’s back….and elephant was pleased to have their company as well! :D This was painted in May’08 and I remembered I had a yearning to want to visit Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand :D..so that was why I painted these 3 friends having an outing with the elephant….because there are many elephant reserves there in Chiang Mai, where they protect these precious animals from harm.
