The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by SBC, painting, and drawing. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda. It won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007.

I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. The bridge reminds me of an emotion of solitude, which is not to be confused with loneliness. The former leads to an internal peace and being one with nature and oneself while the latter was a feeling of being forced to be alone, deprived of freedom and choice. I used to call this photo “Peaceful Bridge” until a young patient of mine (at the time she was nine years old) explored the difference between solitude and loneliness. When the image was presented to him as an illustration, he exclaimed, “Oh, solitude is peace, inner peace!” And the true title of the piece was born. I’m so insignificant…I am because there’s the Sun…only then….I can be alive…So it’s the blessings of the Sun that we thrive on… Inspired by the ancient ways of Sun worship in the Hindu faith, religion, mythology and many religions and faiths worldwide.. This painting depicts the five elements, Earth / Water / Air / Sky and / Fire Oil-on-canvas / 36 X 24 inches ...this is what I personaly believe in.. is that there is just ONE God. How come? / This planet earth and the Solar (the sun)syetem sprang from the womb of the sun. (the big bang theory says so as well) it’s probably millions of years after the big bang, life began to spring up on our planet, we human beings were probably the last one to arrive lol:) It is us early human beings that had began to understand that we owe our life to the sun. The sun was the only God until great men and women who preached love, peace harmony amongst us came along and we began to worship them as Gods…it is our own interpretation or misinterpretation of their teachings that we should divide ourselves into religious groups and anyone who’s from another faith should be hated…(so sad) we defeat the very basics of their teachings that the holy men, messengers of God, the great teachers and givers of good to us, in Hinduism we call them Devtas which means ‘The Givers’…some call them prophets…some call them Gods as per their own reasons…For me personally The Sun is the God…If there’s the Sun, Only Then We are… This inspired poem is by a dear and a departed poet HAFIZ … I want both of us / To start talking about this Great Love As if You, I and the Sun were all married / And living in a tiny room. / Helping each other to cook, / Do the wash, / Weave and sew / Care for our beautiful / Animals. We all leave each morning / To labor on the earth’s field. / No one does not lift a great pack. I want both of us to start singing like two / Traveling minstrels / About this Extraordinary Existence / We Share, As If, You, I, and God were all married And living in / A Tiny / Room ...and this poem is by RosaCobos / Water melted from iced melted… / The lake of the new dreams.. / where the reflections of the love they share… / will get into the ear.. / travelling along the sun beams…. / down… there.. / into the profoundity. / Rosa (Beautiful picture… and wonderful poem….just tell your friend…) Featured Work… / Honored, Thank you Masterpieces: Literary Workshop Group

/ “Moondance”is in the Landscape collection...it is a new painting based on a winter scene I had posted earlier… Watercolour on Arches Paper… Well, its a marvelous night for a moondance / With the stars up above in your eyes / A fantabulous night to make romance / ‘neath the cover of October skies / And all the leaves on the trees are falling / To the sound of the breezes that blow / And I’m trying to please to the calling / Of your heart-strings that play soft and low / And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush / And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush Michael Buble Music / / Well, I wanna make love to you tonight / I can’t wait ‘til the morning has come / And I know that the time is just right / And straight into my arms you will run / And when you come my heart will be waiting / To make sure that you’re never alone / There and then all my dreams will come true, dear / There and then I will make you my own / And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside / And I know how much you want me that you can’t hide. ..Van Morrison

The doe took a little time off from busy eating for the photo opportunity, although she didn’t want to give up the tasty colorful leaf. By now everyone who has ever seen my work knows that I’m absolutely “addicted” to develop a deep relationship and establish an intimate communication with mule deer (we don’t have a lot of white-tailed deer around here). Everyday I go out there in the early mornings, hoping to have a close encounter! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

“Red pears with Ewer” is part of the Blue Series...image painted from early sketch…provenance unknown… / See others in the Series below… Watercolour on Gessoed Arches Paper… My beautiful ewer, pleasant and elegant, / In the world of today who can find the like? / Everyone who sees it says ‘It is very beautiful’. / No one has found its twin because there are no others like it. / Glance at the ewer, a spirit comes to life out of it, / And this is living water that flows from it. / Each stream which flows from it into the hand / Gives each hour new pleasure. / Glance at the ewer which everyone praises; / It is worthy to be of service to such an honoured person as you Ancient poem… / / / /

/ “Bamboo Night is Part of the new “Tropics” Collection... Watercolour on Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed Paper.. The aura of bamboo grove by night is charming to behold, / The moon peeks thru the leaves painting the grove in silhouette and silvery shadows, / The trees resonate with the heartbeat of romance, / Each knot feels like the ladder to advance to the higher level of ecstasy of love. J.Narain.. /

/ “The Basho Tree” is part of the new Collection called “Tropics”, and is named after the famed poet Basho.. / The Tropics collection of paintings are imbued with colour and light to reflect the intense heat of the climate... Watercolour on Arches Hot Pressed Paper.. Matsuo Kinsaku was a Japanese poet who changed his name to ‘Basho’, after he was presented with a wide leafed banana tree (or Basho tree) by one of his disciples. Although the tree is rare in Japan and the climate too cold for it to bear fruit, Basho liked it because of its large, soft leaves. The Basho tree appeared frequently in his work. Poetgraves Squalls shake the Basho / tree – all / night my basin echoes rain. Matsuo Basho /
