I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

My husband was the hand model…He was cupping his hands around a birthday candle…I told him to get closer…he said, it’s hot…I said…it’s in the name of art…shut up and feel the burn…hee hee…..and I got this image… / I cut out his hands….put them on the black BG….made lil white hearts…layed red and yellow on the hearts and just kinda crammed them in there…and between the fingers…clipping and cutting away at peices of the hearts to make them look like they were peeking out… after I got to this point I sat looking at it….trying to figure out what else I should do….and Craig walked by and said how perfect it was….”don’t change a thing”….so I didn’t…I trust his oppinion….lol

On the 12th day of May 2008 I witnessed (along with thousands of others) a perfect circle in the form of a rainbow around the sun at about noon-time at a beautiful place in the Philippines. Completely perplexed, stunned and amazed at this extraordinary and divine sight, I HAD to create this artwork. Im not sure where you were or what you were doing at this same moment of time but I guess this is all we have. Small pigments of time all squeezed together. And if we’re blessed enough, we get moments like these and realise even for a second the gravity of God’s love. There were no photo’s taken at the time and all I had available to me was the memory of this moment… The moment my heart burned. Print available. / Vector digital art created in illustrator.

He stole the heart (the strongest one) / The one with wings that would have flown. He stole the heart (before it grew) / No note the harm deceit would do. He stole the heart (and sad to say) / Filleted its soul with fork and knife. He stole the heart (the one with wings) / But stronger souls can trump a King. Actual artwork is 12” x 12”. Mixed media mosaic, framed in 2” deep, distressed brown solid wood shadow box that can be opened. My work is hand-beaded by gluing each bead, jewel and embellishment one by one onto foam-core using tweezers and toothpicks. I love this kind of meditative labor. I use leather, brass and silver charms and hundreds of Czech and Japanese bugle beads.

My dear Agathe,so precious ,when she wants something nothing can stop her.She’s a libra just like me and her sister’s name is Gisèle just like me…either.Agathe is very proud to remember my name all the time and she always wants a big hug from me but when she’s angry ,watch out..!She has the most gentel smile I’ve ever seen ….and when she has that smile , it means trouble.She’s always looking in her purse,afraid that somebody would steel something from her One day I wanted to take the purse away to change her and she told her family that I beat her up,like I told you ,very clever that lady.I don’t touch the purse anymore.I don’t have any choices that to love her ,she won’t let anyone get on her back and that’s a good thing…..but it’s very hard to please her.I think It’s a great chalenge….Gigi..

This piece was inspired by my love and passion for nature. This image is comprised of 3 different photos I shot. The background is the Mountains in North Georgia. The hands are mine….. hubby helped with that photo :-)..... and a red-tailed hawk that I’ve used in other images in my portfolio. I’ve merged all 3 images and applied the Orton Effect in PS. / To Love Nature is to “Embrace” Her…..... Not destroy her!!
