I have a series of calendars that I have produced for about 20 years. This is a possible image for the 08/09 edition. The style has always been to present beauty and sex appeal but with a real look. This shot was taken near my studio in Ivanhoe. The feel is meant to be of a nature photographer in the Amazon or some similar region. Model – Meluxine The height of winter, she’s laying on wet frozen ground, in a vintage dress and my ugg boots, full to the brim with Hungry Jacks, watching me dance like a crazy person with a head cold around her when suddenly the sun breaks through right at the perfect moment, and she manages to pull of that look like it’s as easy as microwave popcorn. / This girl rocks. Taken at One of New York’s Photography Shootouts. This image is of Lauren after 3 hours of body painting. The wanted to build on the bodypainting to take it to an abstract level and so chose an old fridge to do the shoot. The heat was incredible. It was July in Brooklyn in an old factory. I think deep down I have a bit of a thing for pirates. When it came time to do this shoot I seemed to have an awful lot of pirate accessories just lying around waiting to be used. It was good to get it out of my system. Only problem is now I can’t stop thinking of excuses to take more pirate photos. Ideally you will be… / prepared to give it a go and try something different or even a bit unflattering based in Melbourne, Australia look completely normal or utterly unusual or anything in between accept red wine, love and photos as currency I take my responsibility as a photographer seriously. Prior to a shoot I will talk to you about my ideas, what I want you to do, how I want you and the whole image to look and discuss different options. I aim to create an art piece that best utilizes your particular look and attitude whatever that may be. If you don’t look like a typical model, brilliant. I do not shoot underage models without a parent in attendance and encourage all models to bring a chaperon or friend to shoots. I always encourage models to leave their mobile phones switched on, take regular breaks, tell someone where we will be shooting and when they can be expected home. I provide examples of my work, and models I have worked with previously will happily attest to my not being a scam artist or psycho. I attended my first photo shoot today. A bunch of Newcastle Flickr members got together with some models. I met lots of wonderful people and learnt heaps. I had a great day. I might upload a couple of shots as I’d like to know your opinions. Thanks in advance.
