A bit of sunrise light over the West Maui Mountains and Lanai and a powerful sea ebbing and flowing over the rugged lava rock off the coast of Kihei. The way the ocean seemed to fold before me as I stood on rock had me in awe of the beauty of nature

Dawn at Garie Beach, Royal National Park just south of Sydney, Australia. A seagull very obligingly flew into shot as I was taking this. Can you spot the silhouetted fishermen? / I’m lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen – it’s only a little national park (14,000 ha) but the variety of stuff to photograph is simply endlessly inspiring. Last Sunday I wend down to Sculpture By The Sea at Bondi Beach. The sky was amazing. It rained all the way down in the car (at 5am) then stopped as I parked. The clouds threatened rain for the 90 min I was taking photos, but then just as I was getting ready to go, a window opened up in the clouds and beautiful golden light streamed over the sculptures. The dark threatening clouds made the perfect backdrop. This image is a 3 shot HDR image. I printed this image up and it looks great in my hall… It has become one of my favorites.

Continuation of my previous sunrise image, taken 14 minutes later as the ocean waits for the sun at Point Lonsdale beach looking over Port Phillip Bay to the Mornington Peninsula. This was one of the most beautiful sunrises that I have seen. This morning was a gorgeous morning to be up and about…. 5AM and I was wondering the rocks of North Narrabeen in just a T-shirt. Not a cloud in the sky, not a puff of wind, hardly a swell in sight. Not the best conditions for seascape photography, but a lovely morning to be up and about enjoying the Spring weather. Did manage to take this photo of North Narrabeen Rock Pool. Love the old textured planks around the pool.
