One day…she looked deeper…deeper yet and knew it was time to let it go. She released her past…and watched as it flew far away from her…to it’s own future…to it’s own place wild, open and free. Having let it go…she is now free, having looked through the past and on to the future. – By Carrie Glenn You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios / In my newest piece my background is painted from Michael Gatch’s photo Through The Past His photography is bold, fresh and very original. • Full view please :) The amazing Stacey Yount has again surprised me with a beautiful poem to accompany this image. I Always Have You Near Me is the second collaboration for Stacey and myself. Stacey is an amazing poet and a lovely person as well. Here is I Always Have You Near Me: I always have you near me / Even if you are far away Your love is carried to me / On the whisper of butterfly wings / Even when you are far away A zephyr sings it through the trees / And brings me joy / Even as I wait for you to return from far away Every exquisite blossom I see / Reminds me of the magnificent shades of our love / Even though you may be far away You are in my mind / A part of my soul / and are my heart See, I always feel you near me / Even if you are far away ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Female model / Male model / Background (trying to locate stock) / Butterflies If you like this, please check out: / / /

  • Benniworth Tunnel
    by compoundeye

    US$23.65–US$126.16

On a recent expedition, Magoo2 and I discovered this old rail tunnel in the Lincolnshire Wolds – which was no mean feat,- we had the nettle stings, mud scrapes and bruises [from being whacked by various tree branches during our ‘controlled descent’ of the overgrown gulley] to prove it! The tunnel seems to be Victorian, from the steeply vaulted roof, and is ‘faced and lined’ with higher grade materials [for show] at each end but bellies out to a larger bore built of red brick further in. There’s no trickery with this one, only ambient light and a ‘star effect’ courtesy of an f8 aperture.

  • Grim Reaper – noun / the personification of death. [Origin: 1925–30] Old Slavic tribes viewed Death as a woman in white clothes, with a never-fading green sprout in her hand. The touch of the sprout would put a human to an everlasting sleep. This image survived Christianization well into the Middle Ages, only being replaced by the more traditional European image of a walking skeleton as late as in the 15th century. Death as a sentient entity is a concept that has existed in many societies since the beginning of recorded history. In Western cultures, death is usually given the name, the “Grim Reaper”, and shown as a skeletal figure carrying a large scythe, and wearing a midnight black gown, robe or cloak with a hood, or sometimes, a white burial shroud. Usually when portrayed in the black-hooded gown, only his eyes can be seen.

    by Vestque

This work is to promote the new group Victoriandustrial. What is Victoriandustrial? Victorian with an edgy modern goth, punk feel. Corsets, tea parties, absinthe, Gothic Lolita. It’s subculture baby, alternative decadence. Think tight-laced corsets, decadent tea parties, bloomers, bloomered harlot/rogue, bustle skirts and combat boots. Absinthe drinkers, prince of Denmark, Dandy wretched men in tophat and tales, striped stockings and chains…. Check out the group for more information :P For this work I was trying my hardest to be punky and edgy while really showing off the Victorian style. Lol…Don’t know if I succeeded though…Oh well I had alot of fun making this :P

  • will nobody love me?
    by Adriana Glackin

    US$6.65–US$114.00

An abandoned Victorian Italianate style house (c.1880-90) in Annandale, an inner city suburb of Sydney. Sitting proudly in a corner position of this hip and happening suburb, it had once been loved and cared for – if you look closely, you can see that one of the previous owners, at some stage, installed an alarm – a measure sure to deter possible intruders. Today, some of the lacework is missing, the fence posts have deteriorated, the concrete probably has cancer, the garden is full of weeds, steps to the front door are missing…will nobody love it anymore?
